Share a chat
Preview a conversation snapshot, create a link anyone can view, and revoke access later.
You can share a read-only snapshot of a chat you started. Anyone with the link can view it without signing in, including people outside your workspace.
Preview and create a link
- Open the conversation in Chats and choose Share in its header.
- Review the preview, including your username, the agent's name, source credits, and any sensitive information in the message text. Opening the preview does not publish it.
- Choose Create Share Link to make that snapshot available.
- Choose Copy Link and send the link to whoever you want to see it.
Only the chat's owner can create or revoke its link.
Discuss a shared chat
Comments are off by default. In the Share dialog, turn on Allow Comments before or after creating the link. A discussion appears below the shared snapshot; anyone with the link can read it.
Sign in to post a comment or choose Reply on a comment. Your username and comment are visible to everyone with the link, including people outside your workspace. Comments are plain text, up to 4,000 characters each.
Type @ to mention the chat's owner or someone who has participated in this discussion. Use the arrow keys and Enter to choose a person, or Escape to close the picker. A mention notifies that person without giving them access to your private chat or workspace. Mentions in quotes or code do not notify anyone.
The owner receives notifications for new comments; commenters receive them for replies and mentions. Your own comments don't notify you, and one comment creates at most one notification for each recipient. Choose Mute Discussion to stop notifications from this snapshot, including mentions, or Unmute Discussion to receive future activity again. Existing notifications remain in your notification center.
You can delete your own comments. The chat's owner can delete any comment and choose Close Comments or Open Comments on the shared page. Closing comments prevents new posts and replies while keeping the discussion readable. Deleted comments leave a placeholder so their replies still make sense.
The discussion refreshes while the page is open; choose Refresh to check immediately. Comments never change the snapshot, reach the agent, or get copied when someone chooses Continue This Chat.
What people can see
New snapshots contain the chat title, your username, the agent's name, and saved user and assistant message text. Names are captured with the preview, so later profile or agent renames don't change a published snapshot. Shares created before attribution was available keep their original generic speaker labels.
Attachments, reasoning, tool activity, and agent configuration are excluded; embedded images, their source URLs, and hidden HTML comments are removed from assistant messages before the preview is created. Literal examples inside code remain visible. Information quoted in a message is still part of that message, so check the preview before sharing.
The snapshot stays as you previewed it. Later messages and title changes do not update it, even if they arrive before you choose Create Share Link. Visitors can read the snapshot or continue it in a private chat of their own. Sharing gives them no access to your original chat, agent, or workspace.
When you paste a share link into another service, its preview can show the conversation title, a short excerpt from the first user message, your username, and the agent's name. For a continued conversation, the excerpt prefers your own first message after the copied conversation. Preview images and metadata stop being served when you revoke the link, but other services may retain a preview they already cached.
Continue a shared chat
- Open a shared conversation and choose Continue This Chat.
- Sign in if needed. You return to the continuation page after signing in.
- Choose an agent in your current workspace.
- Write your next message in the new private chat.
Only the published messages are copied. Your chosen agent uses its own tools and settings, with your access in the selected workspace. Copied messages link back to the shared conversation and are labelled as coming from its original user or assistant. The agent treats them as quoted context; your new messages direct its work.
If you share your continued chat, its preview and public page credit and link to the conversation you continued. Copied messages retain the original creator and agent attribution, including when a conversation has been continued more than once. Your new messages use your own username and chosen agent's name. These captured credits remain with the copy if a source link is later revoked; following that source link will show it as unavailable. Older continuations whose source was already revoked may only have a generic source credit.
Creating the copy does not start an agent run. Changes to either conversation stay in that conversation. If the original link is later revoked, your private copy remains available, but new copies cannot be made from that link.
Manage or revoke a link
Open the original chat and choose Share again to see the published snapshot and copy its existing link. Each chat has one active share link at a time.
To disable it, choose Revoke Link. Opening or refreshing that link then shows that the shared conversation is unavailable. Deleting the original chat also disables its link. Revoking access cannot remove copies someone already saved. Revoking the link also removes its discussion. A new share link starts with comments off and no previous discussion.
To share a newer version, revoke the existing link, choose Preview a New Snapshot, review it, and choose Create Share Link. Send the new link to your readers; the old link stays unavailable.
If an unpublished preview expires, close sharing and reopen it to preview the conversation again.
