Add knowledge

Give agents focused source material without creating an unmanageable file dump.

Knowledge helps an agent reason over material that is specific to your work. It does not replace clear instructions, and more files are not automatically better.

Choose the right location

Knowledge lives under Knowledge in the sidebar, which has two tabs. Use My Files for private working material, and Org Library for material that workspace members should discover and reuse. The Org Library tab only appears in an organization with other members — a personal workspace has no audience to publish to.

Publishing a file to the organization library is an intentional sharing action. Review the file for sensitive or irrelevant content first.

Organize for retrieval

Group files by stable subject rather than by temporary project activity. Prefer descriptive filenames and remove duplicate or superseded versions.

Supported files can be previewed directly in the knowledge workspace. Use folders to keep related sources together and make ownership obvious.

Validate with source-specific questions

Ask the agent questions whose answers are present in the uploaded material, then test a question the material does not answer. A reliable agent should distinguish retrieved facts from assumptions.

When an answer is wrong, inspect the source material before adding more instructions. Contradictory or stale files often cause the problem.
